United Nations - Climate - World Oceans Day (8 juin 2017)

On the occasion of World Oceans Day on June 8, France reaffirms its attachment to the conservation and sustainable use of marine resources as well as the fight against climate change and ocean acidification.

The UN Ocean Conference, which is currently taking place in New York from June 5 to 9, is aimed at accelerating the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14 on oceans and seas, which is one of the priorities of the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

More than 50 French stakeholders from all backgrounds (ministries, researchers, academics, companies, and NGOs) are taking part in this major event, notably in order to implement the Paris Climate Agreement.
