Ambassador Anne de la Blache meets a delegation from the Organization of Women of the Americas.
Ambassador Anne de la Blache welcomed, on the 3rd of April, a delegation from the Organization of Women of the Americas, led by the president of the organization, Ms. Joanne Phillips-Spencer, wife of HE Mr. Philip Spencer, Permanent Representative of Trinidad and Tobago to the OAS.
This meeting gave the opportunity to mention this volunteer organization discreet and efficient work. OWA’s goals are not only to sensitize the public on the needs and problems of women and children in the Americas, but also to organize fund-raising events in order to support concrete projects.
OMA thus participates in actions related to disadvantaged childhood, the organization for example funded a canteen serving breakfast to schoolchildren in poor areas of Belize or also helped empowering women economically by financing a tourist guide training program.
Like every year, OMA organizes a food festival on the 19th of May 2019. This highly awaited event will allow the organization to raise funds necessary to finance its future humanitarian projects.
