The Permanent Observer of France to the Organization of American States, Ambassador Anne de la Blache, hosted a reception at the Maison Française to celebrate the French National Day. Around 150 guests came to celebrate this important event in front of giant posters of the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower.

In her speech (click here), Ambassador de la Blache recognized the strong and dynamic relationship between France, the Americas and the Caribbean, a relationship, based on shared values, deeply rooted in history and culture as well as geography. Ambassador de La Blache mentioned the important regional role of the OAS which reflects a common interest to promote and support multilateralism.

After the speech, the guests had the great pleasure to listen to the French choir of the Embassy and the Lycée Rochambeau who led us in a vibrant rendition of the French National Anthem as went on with some beautiful songs in English and French from their amazing repertoire. We also had the great pleasure and honor to welcome Mr. Martin Gallegos, a DC-based Pianist and vocal accompanist from Peru whose tremendous talent was most appreciated by all.
